At last I have finally got everything working well enough to shoot some tests for lighting and to get an idea of speed for the puppets movements. Also everything is now at a quality I am happy with, it has taken long enough. Still trudging on with the hand drawn part too. I am very happy it is finally moving and just thought I would post some frames to prove that there is at last some progress in the stop motion end of the film! Feeling a bit rough after having my flu jab yesterday so will probably be nothing of note happening today but check back soon as there may be a little momentum building....Hi I'm Adam and this blog is a place where I will post anything and everything art related that I feel like sharing. I hope you enjoy it.

Test Shots...At Last!!!!!

Drawing, Drawing....and More Drawing.
Its been a couple of weeks since my last update. The filming ground to a halt yet again as the camera I was going to use wasn't really up to the job, too much noise in low light, not a good enough sensor. So, I have been waiting for my Dad to get back so I could use his camera (much better). More issues with software has also caused delays with filming but it is all fixed now.

In the meantime I have been getting on with the hand drawn part of the film. I have 30 seconds to draw but it has taken me well over 50 hours so far, partly because I am never happy with what I draw and always seem to find ways of improving it. Anyway, after "refining" the first 15 or so seconds of the animation I am halfway there. I think I now have a style and look I am happy with, so thought I would post a few frames on here to see the look I am going for, bearing in mind the hand drawn part is to be a sort of flash back/dream sequence.

Hope you enjoy and I shall update again once I have begun filming.

An Overdue Update
Over the week I finished giving her legs and feet and began the skirt. This time around I decided to give her a dark grey skirt as a bit of contrast to make the puppet a bit more interesting to look at on screen as I felt the first puppet I made looked a bit bland with all the same shade of grey. I also thought that I should try and put a few pleats or waves in her skirt to make it look more like a skirt and again to make it a little more interesting.
I then bulked out her upper body and tried to make her top appear as though it was over the skirt. I also gave her top dark grey sleeves and a bit of a collar type thing. I had to redo the arms and legs again a little bit as I had been clumsy whilst making the clothes and damaged the limbs and got smudges on them.
